About

Alex Taylor is a designer interested in how material and space shape experience. Her work approaches interiors as environments to be inhabited over time, where atmosphere, movement, and subtle shifts in light and texture influence how a place is felt and remembered.

She is particularly drawn to natural materials with texture and patina. Plaster, stone, linen, and reclaimed elements are used not simply as finishes, but as foundational elements that give a space depth, character, and a sense of continuity with time. Craftsmanship and careful material selection play a central role in her process.

Rather than relying on decoration or trend, Alex seeks to create interiors that feel grounded, restrained, and enduring—spaces where material, proportion, and atmosphere work together to produce a distinct and memorable experience.

Alex is currently based in Florence, Italy for the 2025–2026 academic year, pursuing formal training in interior design at the Florence Institute of Design International.
